Wing Ching Kwok graduated in 2022 from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) with a master’s degree in Chemistry and a specialisation in hydrometallurgy. She finished her master’s thesis project of “Circular Hydrometallurgy: Solvent Extraction of Methanesulphonic Acid”, which focused on the regeneration of chemical reagents consumed in the metallurgical processes by solvent extraction. She is currently enrolled in a PhD program at the ULB 4MAT department under the supervision of Professor Prakash Venkatesan in the development of electrochemical process for the lithium recovery from various secondary sources.
She also participates in the Horizon Europe’s funding program – RELiEF Project to develop an efficient pre-processing unit operations for solid input materials to selectively leach out and recover lithium from the liquid stream.
